NOTES: Catalogued 11/90, MMC. "Song Without Words was first titled and sequenced in 1948 with twenty-four prints. In 1950 several 15 print sets were made and titled 'These Images'. The present sequencing (from Mirrors/Messages/ Manifestations, 1969) was completed in 1960. All the photographs were made during October and November of 1947 a few miles south of San Francisco with the exception of 'Golden Gate Bridge', made in August 1959."
