(1987) states "Three of the men in this squad, Hayes [Ira H. Hayes],
Gagnon [Rene A. Gagnon], and Bradley [John H. Bradley], were the
real-life Marines who raised the flag at Iwo Jima and were caught in
the historic photograph...", in their entry for the film "Sands of Iwo
Jima".
