"As you may, or may not know, I had a long standing relationship with Roy Stryker and acquired his entire library, archive, and personal collection for the University of Louisville Photographic Archive in the late 60s. When I visited Roy in 1964 to conclude arrangements for this acquisition, Roy gave me, personally, a print of the Migrant Mother and a print of Arthur Rothstein's Dust Bowl. At a later date, Roy apparently had forgotten this fact and toward the end of his life, he presented me with another of the Lange prints. ... I turned the first of these Lange prints over to the Louisville Archive and the second one was deposited at IMP/GEH shortly after I arrived in Rochester in December of 1972."
