INSCRIPTION: (no inscriptions)

NOTES: Catalogued 12/97, DZ. Originally identified as being a portrait of P.T. Barnum and Wife ("P.T. Barnum. A particularly fine full-length portrait. Barnum is seated and a woman (his wife ?) stands beside him. Traces of tarnish around oval mat and across plate. Fine gold-stamped leather case, velvet beautifully embossed to read L.H. Hale Artist, 109 Washington St. Boston." - Strober Sale, Parke-Bernet Galleries, 1970) Grant Romer states that the image is not of Barnum (12/97).
