"Taken on Collodion, September, 1855; Weather fine; Exposure about thirty seconds; developed with Pyrogallic Acid one grain, water one ounce, Acetic Acid fifteen minims." "Lens by F.S. Archer; focal length about seventeen inches; diameter two and a half inches; Diaphragm half an inch." "Those printed by Sir F. Coghill are toned with Tetrathionic Acid, and washed with hot water; and those by Spencer are on ordinary"...
