INSCRIPTION: Verso (printed): "This monument, in memory of the Swiss Guards who fell in defence of the Palace of the Tuileries, at Paris, August 10, 1792, is in the Pfyffer Garden, outside the walls of Lucerne. The model was designed by Thorvalsden, and the carving executed by Ahorn of Constance.
