INSCRIPTION: verso (in ink) "Temple of Theseus. Athens Octr. 21 1851. Lenght 112 ft size of. Columns at base 10 ft 6 at base [sic]. it was built by Cimon son of Miltiades as a Mausoleum for the body of Theseus which was brought from the Isle of Seyros 50 years before the building of Par- thenon. 415 before Christ"
