Both Snyder and Naef attributed this photograph to A. J. Russell since
a negative of this image is in the Russell collection at the Oakland
Museum, History Dept. in California. In 1988 Snyder stated
that this was a mis-attribution since he had
later seen a print with O'Sullivan at work making this picture in an
album at the Bancroft Library at the Univ. of Calif., Berkeley. (SB)
