NOTES: Catalogued 10/2001, DZ. Title and date from Museum acquisition records. "...Larson's Theatre du Monde series explores the cultural ramifications of the overwhelming surfeit of information and images in our lives. Seemingly unrelated images, separated by a theatre curtain, are juxtaposed in a manner reminiscent of the way images in magazines and on television pour over us. Theatrical narratives and stage directions are printed on the photograph. Though at first they appear to explain the scene, ultimately they leave us no closer to any logical explanation. We are left without an answer in a Theatre du Monde where reports of bombings and advertisements for luxury cars are intermingled streams of information on the evening news."
