INSCRIPTION: recto-(printed) "Neue Erfolge der Naziheilkunde: SENF statt KASE" "'Weg mit dem weiBen Kase! Brauner Senf is das einzige Heilmittel.'" "Die Sekte des nationalistischen Wunderdoktors WeiBenberg, der gegen alle Leiden weiBen Kase verschrieb, wurde verboten." ["'Away with white cheese! Brown mustard is the only remedy.' The sect of the nationalist quack WeiBenberg, who prescribed white cheese for all complaints, has been banned."] "Fotomontage: John Heartfield"

NOTES: Catalogued 1/91, DZ. "'Dr. Goebbels Heilsenf' (literally, Dr. Goebbels's healing mustard) also suggests 'Heil mustard!'. 'Seinen Senf dazu geben' means to make a stupid, uncalled-for contribution to a discussion. 'Brauner Senf' in the subtitle thus means not only brown mustard but also Nazi rubbish. Kase (cheese) is also a colloquialism for nonsense, or rubbish. The religious leader Joseph Weissenberg (1855-1941) was known as 'the apostle of white cheese' because he promulgated the view that white cheese had healing properties. An article on WeiBenberg and his followers, 'Besuch beim Meister des weissen Kase' (A visit to the master of white cheese) was published in AIZ on 16 October 1932, and a note in the 21 February 1935 issue had informed readers that his sect had been banned, even though it supplied followers to the Nazi movement."
