NOTES:
Catalogued 1/91, DZ.
"Julius Streicher (1885-1946) founded the anti-Semitic newspaper
Der Sturmer and was its editor from 1923 to 1945. The swastika is
formed from Der Sturmer headlines: 'Rasseschander Judenschwein' (Race
violator Jewish pig), 'Ritualmorde...' (Ritual murders), 'Der
Judengeruch' (The Jewish stench), 'Frauen und Madchen die Juden sind
euer Verderben!' (Women and girls the Jews are out to ruin you!),
'Judenfreundinnen...Schachtung...' (Girlfriends of Jews...Ritual
slaughter...).
In Nazi terminology the word Schander (rapist or violator) described
any Jewish male involved in a sexual relationship with a non-Jewish
German woman; cohabitation between German Aryans and Jews was
Rassenschande (race defilement); and interracial marriage was
Blutschande (incest; literally, blood shame)." [Evans, p. 302]
