Lucrezia Bori, soprano opera singer, born Lucrecia Borja y Gonzalez de Riancho
Spanish (b. Valencia, 1887-1960)
One of the greatest sopranos of her generation, Bori established her career singing with the famous Italian tenor, Caruso, in the New York Metropolitan's first visit to Paris (1910). She made her American debut with the Met in 1912, and worked with the opera company from 1921-1936. Her roles include Juliet from Romeo and Juliet (1924) and the title role from Manon (1929).
