Ina Claire, actor, born Ina Fagan
American (b. Washington D.C., 1892-1985)
Remembered for her sophisticated comedy, Claire starred in vaudeville and Broadway musicals in the early 1900s, before shifting to straight acting. She acted in a handful of films, but achieved her greatest successes on stage. Her works include the plays The Quaker Girl (1911) and Honeymoon Express (1913), and the film The Awful Truth (1922).
