This is a ¼ plate sliding box camera, with a wet plate holder
manufactured by Nelson Wright of New York City, ca. 1860.
The camera was found with an assortment of Brady glass plates in
Auburn, NY, hence the Brady provenance.
The sliding box style camera is typical of the early wet plate era.
The CC Harrison lens of Petzval type indicates that the camera most
likely would have been used for portraiture.
