"c1904. Leather covered box camera for 3¼x4¼" exposures using double
plate holders, magazine plate holder or cartridge rollholder. The
1904 graflex catalog calls it "in every sense of the word a detective
camera, being thoroughly disguised to resemble a stereo camera and so
arranged as to photograph subjects at right angles to its apparent
line of vision."" (McKeown, 1997).
"Made only in 3¼x4¼ size, listed in 1901 and 1904 catalogs. Ground
glass image can be viewed from rear. 45 degree angle mirror finder
allows taking picture at 90 degrees from aparent subject. Disguised as
a stereo camera. Twin lens type. Focusing hood telescopes on two metal
arms for eye level use." (T. Holden, 1999).
