The M4 was produced 1967-71, with production resuming 1974-75. It may
be considered a hybrid of the M2 and M3, using the 0.72X finder from
the M2 which has field frames for 35mm, 50mm, 90mm, and 135mm lenses.
The re-wind knob is angled and features a folding crank. Film advance
lever has plastic tip. Available in silver chrome, black enamel, and
black chrome finishes for civilian use, olive green finish for West
German military use, engraved "Bundeswehr". US Military M4 designated
KE-7a manufactured by Leitz Canada which used 50mm f/2 ELCAN lens.
