The Bell & Howell Standard is the first of the modern style of cine
cameras. Its constructed entirely of metal with classic "Mickey Mouse
ears"-shaped magazines. The four-lens turret front promotes quick and
easy lens changing and allows for previewing the scene through the
taking lens. The film transport system is extremely accurate due to
registration pins that align the film at the time of exposure. This is
necessary for in-camera special effects such as double exposure.
Originally introduced as a hand-cranked model, motor drives were added
later.
