NOTES: Catalogued 5/90, DZ. "This image began as a book about Mao Tse-tung upon which the artist had drawn. The book was photographed using color Polaroid photography. This photograph was drawn upon then bolted to a Formica backing element. This construction was photographed using color Polaroid photography. The resulting photograph was scanned and four-color separated at 300 lines per inch. These separations were contact exposed to negative-working waterless printing plates. The fifth plate printed in gold ink, is a line shot from a Chinatown newspaper. It too was imaged on a negative-working waterless plate. Runs 1-5 were all hand inked and printed. A manually operated...press was used..."
