"The first camera with a built in roll-holder (if we discount
Professor Porro's panoramic camera) was described by Professor E.
Stebbing at the Société Française de Photographie on August 3, 1883.
He demonstrated his 'automatic' camera, which carried on two built-in
rollers, a yard or two of sensitized paper, or of a special stripping
film of his own devising." (Coe, 1973).
The 'automatic' in the camera title refers to the fixed focus lens
that the camera uses. (TFG).
