NOTES:
"Presented at the December 1899 meeting of the Société Française de
Photographie, Guido Sigriste's camera exhibited some unique features.
Most unusual of all the features was the shutter. A bellows extends
rearward inside from the lensboard, tapering to the parallel metal
plates which are at the focal plane and move across like a focal-plane
shutter. The bellows and plates move together during the exposure.
The shutter speeds are varied by changing the slit width and changing
the tension on the shutter. A large circular area on the bottom of
the camera features a dial with a movable arm for determining the
exposure time and tensioning the shutter. Ten different apertures and
10 different tensions offer 100 combinations (a few duplicating each
other) of speed settings." (Lothrop, 1973).
