NOTES:
"1972-77. The original SX-70 camera. Ingeniously designed folding SLR
which ushered in a new era of instant photography. The mircle was
watching the colored photo slowly appear in broad daylight after being
automatically ejected from the camera. The technical and esthetic
marvel was the compact machine which fit easily into a coat pocket.
The basic folding design was not new. Perhaps one of Polaroid's
engineers had seen the circa 1905 "Excentric" camera of R. Guénault,
which is surprisingly similar. But Guénault would have never have drea
med of an even more compact camera incorporating SLR focusing to 10½
inches, automatic exposure up to 14 seconds, and motorized print
ejection, all powered by a disposable flat battery which came hidden
in the film pack. This is a landmark camera, but quite common because
  it was so popular."McKeown, 1997.
