FRAME: covered in red cloth, stamped with gold

NOTES: An album of 18 albumen photographs, approximately 20.5 x 27.5 cm. mounted on heavy boards edged in gold. Each page has captions in French and decorative borders in letterpress. Views include major streets, heavily populated, as well as the well known monuments and architecture. The inclusion of the image of the Palais du Trocadéro and the presence of the Eiffel Tower [from the Paris Exposition of 1889] suggest a late 19th Century date for this album, although it is possible that some of the photographs, none by identified photographers, may be earlier. Album is in good condition, covered in red cloth with title stamped in gold. 28 x 38 cm. Catalogued 9/02 JRS
