NOTES:
"J. Damoizeau presented the first model of his Cyclographe on December
5, 1890, before a meeting of the Société Française de Photographie.
The original model, as exhibited at that meeting, was a collapsible
bellows-camera which resembled a rather disproportionately high view
camera of those times. The rear of the camera was hinged to open, and
the mechanism which operated the camera was visible both externally
  and internally.
The camera, and other subsequent models, operated on one of the basic
forms of panoramic photography. That is, as the camera, driven by a
key-wind mechanism, turned on its tripod in one direction, the film
was wound in the opposite direction past a slit at the plane of focus.
While the camera was able to take a full 360° view, it could also be
used for lesser segments. A sharp punch device to indicate the
beginning of each exposure on the film was coupled to the release
mechanism which started the clock-work operating. The collapsible
model had provisions for focusing, a scale being provided at the side
of the camera bed; it also had rising and falling motions of the
  camera front." (Lothrop, 1973).
