NOTES: Catalogued 3/95, DZ. See also 81:2163:37. "...photograph of two nude women on a beach. The one sitting up is Lucia Moholy; the other one appears in other nude photos in the same series. I am not sure who it is. Verena Clay-Giedion suggested it was someone named Kaethe Achenbach, of whom I know nothing. The back of the negative print is signed "L. Moholy=Nagy" and dated 1925 in his hand. I had always assumed this series was made at a nude beach in Berlin, but this date suggests Ascona because LMN and Lucia were at the Dessau Bauhaus then.
